GIRL POWER – ELLIE BICKERTON-JONES

Synopsis:

Girl Power is a short documentary, which focuses on the lack of equality within the music industry, exploring topics such as sexism and the lack of female representation on festival line-ups. Women are often not given the same opportunities as men and are the brunt of sexist comments even with movements such as #MeToo. Despite the rising popularity of artists such as Taylor Swift and Rihanna, there is still a lack of positive female role models within the industry. The doc was filmed and created entirely during lockdown one in the UK.
