What is NYFF?

Nottingham Young Filmmakers Festival is a celebration of young filmmakers work and their creative talent; giving them a platform to showcase their work and gather feedback from a wider audience whilst having the opportunity to network and collaborate with other enthusiastic filmmakers.

When will NYFF take place?

The festival is planned to run at 19:00PM (GMT) on Monday 22nd March 2021.

Who is behind NYFF?

The festival has been created by a group of 3rd Year BSc Hons Film Production Technology students at Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies contributing to their Exhibition module.

Where will NYFF take place?

Our programme of films will be shown online via a YouTube Premiere on our YouTube channel for audiences to watch along with Q&As with some of the filmmakers involved. After the programme of films are shown, there will be an awards ceremony LIVE on our Facebook Page to celebrate the accomplishments of the young filmmakers who have submitted their work.

When do submissions open and close?

Submissions closed at 5pm on 28th February 2021.

Do I have to pay to submit?

No – submissions are free.

Do I need to be from Nottingham to submit?

No – we do have a focus on Nottingham based filmmakers as we want to celebrate local talent but you can submit from anywhere in the UK.

Can my film already exist online to be eligible?

Films are not required to have a premiere status and can exist online and have been submitted to other festivals.
